Our History
ATC Communications (ATC), as it is known today, started in 1904. Then it was known as “Independent Mutual Telephone Association of Benton and Linn Counties.” In 1918 the company was incorporated and was called Atkins Telephone Company. Atkins Telephone Company served customers in Atkins, Covington, Fairfax, Norway, Newhall, Shellsburg and Palo. Many of the long-distance calls during this time were handled by Cedar Rapids operators.
As the years progressed, ATC replaced much of the copper facilities with Fiber Optics. Today, ATC is a 100% Fiber Optic based service provider. ATC delivers Internet with residential offerings from 10 Mb to 1000 Mb (Gigabit) while offering Business customers Internet connections as high as 30 Gb.

ATC also has several miles of Fiber Optic network serving a number of businesses in the area. The business offerings include, Phone, SIP Trunking, PBX Solutions, DIA (Dedicated Internet Access), remote office connectivity and more.
